Two's Company
Let's face it...gaming is an activity that has been historically
done alone. The TurboGrafx-16 came straight from the factory with a
single controller port. The large majority of games for the system
supported only single player capabilities. Are the console
manufacturers, including NEC, trying to get a message across to
us?
From what I understand, Americans spend a disproportionate amount of
time in front of their TVs. Some poll results would tell us that the
average is between three and four hours per day. That's a
considerable amount of time in my book, and I think that most people
would agree. I'll be the first to admit that turbografx.net does not
exactly work towards the goal of reversing this trend. By promoting a
video game console, we are encouraging people to spend even more time
with their good friend, the television.
Believe it or not, the staff of turbografx.net is not proud of this
image. Certainly there's a time for gaming, but gaming should not
play a central role in your life. There are so many wonders to
explore in this vast world, and the TurboGrafx-16 is only one of
them! Take some time to broaden your horizons. Go out and catch a
monster truck rally. Rip it up in a hotly contested figure skating
competition. Pose for some romance novel covers. The point is, there
is a time for gaming and there's a time to get out there and
experience what life has to offer.
With this in mind, why not make the most of the gaming time that you
do have? The most memorable times of gaming for me have been those
times that I've spent with friends. If you're going to spend time
in front of the television, why not make it a social activity? NEC
released the turbo tap for a reason, so put it to use!
Short on multi-player games? Take a look at Bomberman, one of the TV
Sports games, Dungeon Explorer, or Moto Roader. If you take the time
to look, you can find some great games that make use of the turbo
tap. Why not make your next gaming night a party? Besides, who among
us doesn't have some friends that aren't educated in the ways of
the greatest console known to man...the TurboGrafx-16?
